Piping Live! 2025
In 2025, Piping Live! will see its biggest change since its 2018 move from George Square, with the development of a brand new Festival Site at The National Piping Centre.
This new Festival Site will include the Centre Stage, which will host performances by emerging talent, international artists, pipe bands and a headline act each day.
The Bothy Tent will be an acoustic space, with more live music, ceilidh tots each morning, book launches, talks and more throughout the day.
Belhaven is our new bar sponsor and is partnering with us to develop and deliver this fantastic new site.
This all means and expanded event at McPhater Street, with more music, more to enjoy across the day and real festival feel!

Glenfiddich Piping Championship
The Glenfiddich Piping Championship was established in 1974 to inspire the world’s finest individual pipers and to seek the best overall exponents of ceòl mòr or piobaireachd (the great music) and ceòl beag or light music (the little music).
Each year, 10 competitors qualify to play at this prestigious event through placing in one of a series of qualifying events throughout the season.
The National Piping Centre and William Grant Foundation are delighted to present the 52nd Annual Glenfiddich Piping Championship at 10am on Saturday 25th October 2025. Tickets will go on sale later this year.

By joining us, you’re helping us continue our mission to inspire, educate, and enrich lives through the power of the pipes. Your support enables:
- Equitable access to high-quality music making and learning for all.
- A nationwide programme of outreach projects, community piping clubs and schools workshops.
- Invaluable piping programmes such as The CLASP and the NPC Veterans Club.
- The running of the worlds largest piping festival in Piping Live!.
- The National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland and Trainee Tutor initiatives.
- Our continued research into, and projects in support of, our pursuit of a more diverse piping community.
All proceeds from the evening go directly to our charitable work. So every ticket, every auction bid, and every dance step taken is a contribution to something bigger — a thriving, inclusive, and enduring piping tradition.
Come for the celebration. Stay for the cause. Leave knowing you’ve made a real impact.
We can’t wait to welcome you.
